Stephanie Ismail

Lovely to meet you!

I’m Stephanie Ismail, and I’m dedicated to helping humans build happy relationships with their animal companions. We’ll talk about meeting your animal’s needs, having fun together, clear communication, and building mutual understanding.

With a commitment to ethical behaviour support and training, your dog or cat’s wellbeing will always be central to my approach.

I have a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Animal Behaviour. I am a Candidate Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC), working towards accreditation. I am also an *Associate Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC).

As pet guardians, I believe we’re responsible for meeting our animals’ needs as far as possible, so they can enjoy behaviours they would naturally choose. Our own interactions are key too. I have experience in building cat-human relationships and supporting the dog-human bond. My puppy training and coaching classes and one-to-one sessions have supported hundreds of caregivers through the challenges of puppyhood. I’m proud to be a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, UK (01589), the home of kind, fair and effective training.

I’ll prioritise clear and tailored plans and aim to create an enjoyable and supportive learning environment.

*Associate members have demonstrated that they have the appropriate level of Knowledge and Understanding for the professional role of Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB). They are now gaining the practical experience necessary to be assessed as a CAB and therefore become a Full member of the APBC. The APBC supports its Associate members undertaking behaviour consultations.

This journey began in central London over a decade ago. It opened my eyes to what it means to raise a confident dog in our busy city. And I faced the challenge of moving two elderly cats to a brand new home environment.

The amount of information available to pet guardians seeking advice can be completely overwhelming, and often contradictory.

I saw a growing need for guiding good social interactions, so that we can live together in harmony, and ensure ethical and evidence-led approaches are widespread.

Inspired by my own experiences, I followed a dream path of new study and a new career, where I can share simple best practises that can make a real difference in the quality of life for pets and their people.

It’s important to me that our time together is a collaboration. And if you have more questions or want more background info that’s great.
